What’s a skeleton crew?

The minimum number of personnel needed to operate and maintain an item at its most simple operating requirements, such as a ship or business, during an emergency or shutdown, and at the same time, to keep vital functions operating.

Skeleton Crew Adventures is always undermanned and underfunded, but we always make it happen with the smallest amount of team members. We’re by default, a skeleton crew.

What’s adventure therapy?

Adventure therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses nature, community and exercise to promote healing. The goal is to improve an individual’s physical, social, spiritual and psychological well-being through the healing power of the outdoors with evidence-based, experiential therapy, recreational activities and expeditions. Adventure therapy can be a powerful tool for addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, eating disorders and substance abuse. You can find research supporting its effectiveness here.

Skeleton Crew Adventures offers adventure therapy as a complementary approach for veterans and first responders seeking to enhance their existing treatment plans and improve their mental and emotional well-being.
